My personal experience about "Greatness" is something really special to me. The bond that me and Mom created is something that not even money can buy. Mother's love is priceless. It all started when my parents separated and since my Mom was a housewife that time (it was really complicated and our life story is like the ones you can watch at MMK), we were left with nothing. I was high school that time and most of the time, our relatives were helping us, but there came a time that we should stand up and do our share to make our lives more meaningful, my mom, one by one started selling our furniture even to the extent of selling our house.

My Mom used to be an accountant at Dubai and My Dad, a chef at Dubai as well but since we don't have any financial support from him and we never heard any news from him (until a few years wherein we learned that he was in prison in Dubai), My Mom did everything just to support our needs. Even until now, I can still feel teary eyed every time that I remember all the hard work and struggles that me and my mom went through. I'm also blessed that my grand mother "Inang" never left our side. Even at the age of 80 plus, she's manages to sew different kinds of cloth like mattress, pillow cases and more) just to support our needs, then I managed to graduate high school (thanks to their help) I enrolled myself to college, I was a working student as well, I'm a student assistant that time and when I got to my 3rd year, I also worked as a CSR in a call center company. I balanced school and work and thankful, I managed to graduate with flying colors. :)

I guess, people can say that most families go through this hardships..but in our case, without my loving Mom, I don't think I can even handle it without her loving support and guidance. My moment of greatness is our UNITY in the house and our courage to face all the struggles that happened in our life. Looking back at that time line of my life, I can really smile about it. Nothing really compares with the strong bond that you have with your family, even though it is just me and my Mom right now (I don't even hold a grudge to my Dad, in fact I'm looking forward to see him soon) I feel really blessed because every moment spend with my family is a shining moment of greatness. I'll do everything just to give back all the love and support they gave me.

This is my moment of Greatness, if you have any moment of greatness that you also want to share that started at home. Join Globe's "Greatness @Home Blogging Contest".

Embrace Good Vibes! :)

There's always a rainbow after the rain..

Even though there are moments that we feel down, hopeless and alone, it shouldn't hinder us from embracing positive vibes. I've known people who's main goal is to put you down or make your life miserable, too bad they never win.  There were times I give in with sadness but yes, I always find time to smile and enjoy what life is all about. It's a wonderful journey! :) I got this article below via Google search, I think ti was also posted before in Inquirer but I'm not sure what month is that.  I find this list very enriching, I should really take note of it. Hope you'll take time to read it as well! :)

When you stop chasing the wrong things you give the right things a chance to catch you.
30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself

As Maria Robinson once said, “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”  Nothing could be closer to the truth.  But before you can begin this process of transformation you have to stop doing the things that have been holding you back.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  1. Stop spending time with the wrong people. – Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you.  If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you.  You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot.  Never, ever insist yourself to someone who continuously overlooks your worth.  And remember, it’s not the people that stand by your side when you’re at your best, but the ones who stand beside you when you’re at your worst that are your true friends.
  2. Stop running from your problems. – Face them head on.  No, it won’t be easy.  There is no person in the world capable of flawlessly handling every punch thrown at them.  We aren’t supposed to be able to instantly solve problems.  That’s not how we’re made.  In fact, we’re made to get upset, sad, hurt, stumble and fall.  Because that’s the whole purpose of living – to face problems, learn, adapt, and solve them over the course of time.  This is what ultimately molds us into the person we become.
  3. Stop lying to yourself. – You can lie to anyone else in the world, but you can’t lie to yourself.  Our lives improve only when we take chances, and the first and most difficult chance we can take is to be honest with ourselves.  Read The Road Less Traveled.
  4. Stop putting your own needs on the back burner. – The most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of loving someone too much, and forgetting that you are special too.  Yes, help others; but help yourself too.  If there was ever a moment to follow your passion and do something that matters to you, that moment is now.
  5. Stop trying to be someone you’re not. – One of the greatest challenges in life is being yourself in a world that’s trying to make you like everyone else.  Someone will always be prettier, someone will always be smarter, someone will always be younger, but they will never be you.  Don’t change so people will like you.  Be yourself and the right people will love the real you.
  6. Stop trying to hold onto the past. – You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading your last one.
  7. Stop being scared to make a mistake. – Doing something and getting it wrong is at least ten times more productive than doing nothing.  Every success has a trail of failures behind it, and every failure is leading towards success.  You end up regretting the things you did NOT do far more than the things you did.
  8. Stop berating yourself for old mistakes. – We may love the wrong person and cry about the wrong things, but no matter how things go wrong, one thing is for sure, mistakes help us find the person and things that are right for us.  We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past.  But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future.  Every single thing that has ever happened in your life is preparing you for a moment that is yet to come.
  9. Stop trying to buy happiness. – Many of the things we desire are expensive.  But the truth is, the things that really satisfy us are totally free – love, laughter and working on our passions.
  10. Stop exclusively looking to others for happiness. – If you’re not happy with who you are on the inside, you won’t be happy in a long-term relationship with anyone else either.  You have to create stability in your own life first before you can share it with someone else.  Read Stumbling on Happiness.
  11. Stop being idle. – Don’t think too much or you’ll create a problem that wasn’t even there in the first place.  Evaluate situations and take decisive action.  You cannot change what you refuse to confront.  Making progress involves risk.  Period!  You can’t make it to second base with your foot on first.
  12. Stop thinking you’re not ready. – Nobody ever feels 100% ready when an opportunity arises.  Because most great opportunities in life force us to grow beyond our comfort zones, which means we won’t feel totally comfortable at first.
  13. Stop getting involved in relationships for the wrong reasons. – Relationships must be chosen wisely.  It’s better to be alone than to be in bad company.  There’s no need to rush.  If something is meant to be, it will happen – in the right time, with the right person, and for the best reason. Fall in love when you’re ready, not when you’re lonely.
  14. Stop rejecting new relationships just because old ones didn’t work. – In life you’ll realize that there is a purpose for everyone you meet.  Some will test you, some will use you and some will teach you.  But most importantly, some will bring out the best in you.
  15. Stop trying to compete against everyone else. – Don’t worry about what others doing better than you.  Concentrate on beating your own records every day.  Success is a battle between YOU and YOURSELF only.
  16. Stop being jealous of others. – Jealousy is the art of counting someone else’s blessings instead of your own.  Ask yourself this:  “What’s something I have that everyone wants?”
  17. Stop complaining and feeling sorry for yourself. – Life’s curveballs are thrown for a reason – to shift your path in a direction that is meant for you.  You may not see or understand everything the moment it happens, and it may be tough.  But reflect back on those negative curveballs thrown at you in the past.  You’ll often see that eventually they led you to a better place, person, state of mind, or situation.  So smile!  Let everyone know that today you are a lot stronger than you were yesterday, and you will be.
  18. Stop holding grudges. – Don’t live your life with hate in your heart.  You will end up hurting yourself more than the people you hate.  Forgiveness is not saying, “What you did to me is okay.”  It is saying, “I’m not going to let what you did to me ruin my happiness forever.”  Forgiveness is the answer… let go, find peace, liberate yourself!  And remember, forgiveness is not just for other people, it’s for you too.  If you must, forgive yourself, move on and try to do better next time.
  19. Stop letting others bring you down to their level. – Refuse to lower your standards to accommodate those who refuse to raise theirs.
  20. Stop wasting time explaining yourself to others. – Your friends don’t need it and your enemies won’t believe it anyway.  Just do what you know in your heart is right.
  21. Stop doing the same things over and over without taking a break. – The time to take a deep breath is when you don’t have time for it.  If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.  Sometimes you need to distance yourself to see things clearly.
  22. Stop overlooking the beauty of small moments. – Enjoy the little things, because one day you may look back and discover they were the big things.  The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.
  23. Stop trying to make things perfect. – The real world doesn’t reward perfectionists, it rewards people who get things done.  Read Getting Things Done.
  24. Stop following the path of least resistance. – Life is not easy, especially when you plan on achieving something worthwhile.  Don’t take the easy way out.  Do something extraordinary.
  25. Stop acting like everything is fine if it isn’t. – It’s okay to fall apart for a little while.  You don’t always have to pretend to be strong, and there is no need to constantly prove that everything is going well.  You shouldn’t be concerned with what other people are thinking either – cry if you need to – it’s healthy to shed your tears.  The sooner you do, the sooner you will be able to smile again.
  26. Stop blaming others for your troubles. – The extent to which you can achieve your dreams depends on the extent to which you take responsibility for your life.  When you blame others for what you’re going through, you deny responsibility – you give others power over that part of your life.
  27. Stop trying to be everything to everyone. – Doing so is impossible, and trying will only burn you out.  But making one person smile CAN change the world.  Maybe not the whole world, but their world.  So narrow your focus.
  28. Stop worrying so much. – Worry will not strip tomorrow of its burdens, it will strip today of its joy.  One way to check if something is worth mulling over is to ask yourself this question: “Will this matter in one year’s time?  Three years?  Five years?”  If not, then it’s not worth worrying about.
  29. Stop focusing on what you don’t want to happen. – Focus on what you do want to happen.  Positive thinking is at the forefront of every great success story.  If you awake every morning with the thought that something wonderful will happen in your life today, and you pay close attention, you’ll often find that you’re right.
  30. Stop being ungrateful. – No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life.  Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.  Instead of thinking about what you’re missing, try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing.

Garnier Affair to Remember :)

Last February 11, I was so delighted because Garnier Philippines invited me to their event. It's a small group-exclusive event that consist of Garnier Facebook fans & twitter fans as well together with the Garnier Team and the most awaited part is, Garnier advocate Ms. Georgina Wilson also dropped by! :) I feel so thankful and grateful that Mr. Niche invited me to this event. I wouldn't pass this affair! :)

Me and my friend Jhoey Mauleon eagerly went to Robinson's Equitable tower where the said event took place. We were welcomed by gorgeous usherettes and after that we get to meet the Garnier team. We were also served with delicious buffet, I totally love their Mango crepe although after meeting Ms. Georgina Wilson in person, I felt stuffed already. :) She's really the perfect Ganier advocate. She's natural, down to eart and oh so pretty! :)Ms. Georgina Wilson also talked about a lot of important facts and details about how Garnier will make everyone's lives easier simply by just using Garnier. She said that during her high school days she also experienced that awkward moment when she needs to attend an event and suddenly the next morning, there's a big pimple in her face. Thanks to Ganier, we won't get to experience that anymore. Thanks to their new innovation that includes herbal ingredients that will totally TAKE CARE of your skin without any allergies.

I've used Ganier products starting from their facial scrub and their Garnier night peeling cream and I totally love it. Based from experience it really works. I've also used the recently launched Garnier Pure Active line that includes facial scrub and pimple roll on and I can totally say I will forever stick to Garnier products. Their pimple roll on really works, I used it nights before since I have this huge pimple bump on my cheek and after using it, 3 nights after, the redness was gone and yes the pimple dried up :) Some of the important factors that causes pimples oiliness, stress, lack of sleep, dehydration and maybe, genetics. All of these already has a soultion with Garnier's Pure Active line that fights 6 SKIN PROBLEMS:
  1. Pimples
  2. Whiteheads
  3. Oiliness
  4. Enlarged pores
  5. Impurities
  6. Unevenness
I learned a lot of things that day, even the fact that Garnier has been in the business for quite some time now..100 years! :) Thanks God for Garnier. :) If you want to know more about their amazing line of products, check out their official Facebook page -> https://www.facebook.com/takecaregarnier?sk=wall and via twitter @GanierPH Again, from the bottom of my gleeful heart, thank you Garnier for the amazing event and plus all the goodies that me and my friends are now using. More power and hopefully, I'll be invited again in your coming events :)

Check out some of the cool pictures we had from the event! :) Cheers Ganier! :)

The Vow - Movie Review

Summary: A car accident puts Paige (McAdams) in a coma, and when she wakes up with severe memory loss, her husband Leo (Tatum) works to win her heart again.
Leo: How do you look at the one you love and tell yourself it is time to walk away.
As you all probably already know, I'm OBSESSED with any romance story, especially anything written by Nicholas Sparks. Though this was not one of Sparks' creations, two of his previous actors (McAdams from The Notebook and Tatum from Dear John) came together to create a love story with his signature passion.

Leo: Life's all about moments of impact, and how they change our lives forever. But what if one day you could no longer remember any of them?
Leo and Paige had such a perfect love in the beginning of the movie. They met, they dated, they fell hopeless and madly in love. So when Paige loses her memory of the last five years, the years she met Leo, they have to work to get that once in a lifetime love back. The only problem is Paige still thinks she's engaged to her ex-fiance (Scott Speedman - from Underworld & Felicity "Ben") and living a wonderful, classy life as a law student. Leo loves Paige with all his heart, but how does he make the love of his life fall in love with him all over again?

Paige: I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness, to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed, and to share the silence when they are not, to agree to disagree about red velvet cake, to live within the warmth of your heart, and always call it home.

This movie is filled with so much emotion but there seems to be something missing. The movie had you rooting for Leo the entire time and although there were not enough twists in the plot to keep you on your toes. It's not the typical perfect love story; there are so many ups and downs in the relationship that it's impossible not to have some sort of reaction to it. Although someone told me that since it was based from a true story, it was much better when you get to read it via Reader's Digest. :) I'm going to look for that issue :)

Some events in the movie annoyed me and I wasn't too big of a fan of how everything ended, but the entire journey of the story was impossible not to life. Rachel McAdams is just gorgeous, she can be paired to anyone and you'll just smile watching her and Channing Tatum is cute, I'm also imagining Ryan Gosling foe the role. If your in the mood for a love story that's perfect yet so unperfect at the same time, check out this movie. And watching Channing Tatum for a full two hours (and I mean REALLY seeing Channing Tatum) doesn't hurt either. Do you think if I went and got hit by a car, I'd wake up to have Channing Tatum as my husband? Hmmm, I'd say it's worth a shot ;)

Check out this interview of Rachel McAdams & Channing Tatum
