New York City - The legendary author who ruled the youths when he wrote his famous and award winning book "Catcher in th Rye" died at the age of 91, he died of natural causes.
"The Catcher in the Rye" with its immortal teenage protagonist, the twisted, rebellious Holden Caulfield, came out in 1951, a time of anxious, Cold War conformity and the dawn of modern adolescence. The Book-of-the-Month Club, which made "Catcher" a featured selection, advised that for "anyone who has ever brought up a son" the novel will be "a source of wonder and delight — and concern."
The novel was included on a 2005 Time magazine list of the 100 best English-language novels written since 1923, and it was named by Modern Library and its readers as one of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century.
Some of his works were: Nine stories, Franny and Zooey, Raise high the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An introduction and his last work which was released in the New Yorker was Hapworth 16, 1924. "I love to write and I assure you I write regularly," Salinger said once in a brief interview. "But I write for myself, for my own pleasure. And I want to be left alone to do it."
I must admit, I haven't read Catcher in the Rye yet and I know I am missing a lot. It will be my goal to read it and I hope someday, I could also publish one of the short stories that I have written.

I recently watched this movie, "Before Sunrise" starring Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpy :) I love this poem written by an anonymous street poet and Celine told him to write about Milkshake :) so, here it goes..

How I miss this movie, Eventhough the theme of this movie seems to be dealing with a typical "boy meets girl then girl falls inlove but they were two young she get pregnant" kind of story, I still love it. Let's not forget that the film won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and earned three other Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Page.
The movie received many criticism, positive ones, because it teached a lot of teenagers on how to embrace their young life. Abortion is never an option. I also loved the opening title sequence of the movie (ok, so I googled it, and that's how I learned how they called it) the cartoon thing when the movie is introducing the cast. It is very creative.
And by the way, I also Love Ellen Page, there is something about her..she is very natural, so hmm..emo? :) Ellen Philpotts-Page is born on February 21, 1987. A canadian actress before she became an actress, she loves playing action figures and climbing trees (I love those too? does that mean I'll be a golden globe winner as well?)
I guess when you're destined to make this career, it doesn't matter what other people think of you, let's just do our thing, be the best on our crafts, let the world turn and everything will be just like the films..it will keep rolling...

I really miss them alot, as in to the highest level. Being with my friends makes me feel at HOME again..which also made me realize how big I have become :) I really need to lose weight asap :) but for now, I am really enjoying what this bonding time gave us..a chance to reunite our goodtimes once again, I guess we are all still the same. What happened in Maguindanao makes me wonder if there is still hope for justice here in our country. This should be a wake up call for all us especially our government that Mindanao is still a part of our country and should also be given attention. To think that election is still months away and we are now facing such cases that is very alarming, what more when election day has come? what would make us secure that our lives will be safe or will we ever put the right names in our ballots and be treated with equal justice because we are Filipinos after all. This also goes to show how politics in our country runs and how bad it has become. Here i thought that all the hearsay stories that i know were false...people say, "ganyan talaga sa Mindanao..ubusan ng lahi..." or maybe around the country..if you were powerful then you are lucky, you get to be dominant and get away from everything without any hassle. But the unlucky ones, gets nothing and sacrifices their own life in favor of a new beginning. I know for sure that this will go no where and if it will, the victims and their families will take forever until they see justice for real. What happened: Dead bodies lie on the ground near their vehicles at the crime scene of a massacre of a political clan that included several journalists in the outskirts of Ampatuan, Maguindanao in southern Philippines November 24, 2009. The Philippines sacked the provincial police chief and sent hundreds of extra troops to a southern region on Tuesday where gunmen killed at least 24 people in the worst-ever election related violence in the country. On Monday, about 100 gunmen abducted a group of people going to file a nomination for the provincial governor’s post in Maguindanao. A group of about 40 people, including women and local journalists, were taken away by gunmen who opened fire on them, investigators said. A local leader said four survivors were in hiding.
I hope that one way or the other, this will come to an end. Senseless deaths has no means of showing power to people, if a person wants to obtain power, that person should show that he is really capable of becoming a role model, a pedestal...

Saw this from a blog of -> Paula Mariz and it really caught my eye. I actually love it. Here, we criticize Filipinos, we are the good ones - we are the black sheep. We are actually humans. We commit mistakes but at the end of it all, we Filipinos have something very rare that compare to other nationalities, this..we can really be proud of. We stand up, chin up above all the bad struggles that we have experienced and hence..we look forward to all of it with a FAITH. Thankfully, I am in full gratitude that i am a Filipino.
Aside from the fact that I am a pork lover...meat meat meat please give me meat!! I also think that we can learn different important things from animals, just like pigs...they can be sometimes disgusting because of the stinky smell they produce or the way they snout around but they can be adorable too..right babe?:) Here are the reasons why they are somehow..better than us humans.. you think so?:)

In relation to this song which I really adore, it has been my LSS (last song syndrome) for the last weeks or so, I just love it.I can relate with the song, most of the time we seem to want things in our life that are "not so important" same with what we want to happen but in the end when things go wrong, we lose heart. I'm sure God always wants the best for all of us, it's hard to wait, to be silent and just expect but it happens that way..just like the song, everyday is a new start, for a while there I always turn my back to God when things go wrong and I felt so embarrased with myself afterwards, wtf is wrong with me? people are dying, there are dozens out there who experience worst than I have experienced..so here I am..going for the simple things in life...Go Go Go!! :)
Everytime I Facebook surf, or check my inbox in Multiply, I begin to lament how everyone in Manila seems to be living infinitely cooler lives than I. All the photos of inuman, tambay, inuman, tambay, jamming, inuman, tambay... social events sponsored by some big company, opportunities to show off new outfits, and rub elbows with this-and-that rockstar/ artista, tons and tons of blurry, un-centered snapshots taken by someone who is also in the picture.I am so ordinary here, so unglamorous, so un-cool. I'm not well-known or well-connected. I don't have cool, artsy, hippie friends. I don't do anything on weekends, and opportunities to dress up, as in dress up to look nice are few and far between. Sure, there's work, but after awhile dressing up for work, it gets nakakatamad too. I'm up at 5 every morning, and I have a jeepney ride to catch. Not much time to really pick things out really, although I haven't resorted to being one of those jeans-and-hoodie types. I am still a stylish employee (or so i think). I make it a point.But during the few times when I do don my finery (my nice clothes, and my accesories etc.), they feel so alien to me because I never wear then. I end up throwing on something more casual.I haven't seen a live band in ages. They're all too far expensive and I've got work to do, and I'm going to have to worry about how I'm going to get home from said gig. I get so jealous when I hear about all the new music flourishing and sprouting.I rarely drink. Getting drunk would disrupt my carefully planned schedule (would make me feel silly in the end). I rarely hang out. Hanging out has to be planned here. And I don't really have any tambay time anyway. My friends have their own lives now, when we do plan, it gets cancelled anyway.Tambay.... it's amazing how much time people have just for tambay. It seems so unreal from imagination. All the same, don't people get tired of being drunk or tipsy every weekend? And tambay, I don't know, don't people have stuff to do? How was my schedule ever that free? Am I a workaholic or am I just focused? It's rare that I have time to waste, and when I do, I don't want to feel like I'm wasting it.Well, this is my life now. Unexciting. More full-filling though. I suppose. Quieter, definitely, more real. And I did need a good dose of reality. And I needed to stop living such an image-based life and ask myself what I really wanted to make of myself. Really.I relied on the people, institutions I was associated with, and activities I got into to sort of define who I was. I really did confuse myself with wanting things that were cool to want as opposed to things I really did want. I guess I feel like I'm catching up after all the time I spent mucking around, wanting to be this one day, and that the next. It's only now that I've actually stuck with a choice: art/ design school. I wish I had made this decision much earlier. So many things held me back, you wouldn't believe it. I wasted so much time before I finally decided to do my own thing.I don't know if it makes any sense, but for the first time I feel like I have a sense of self. I guess it comes with having purpose, and finding what you're good at and finding what you want to do. When you find the thing you want to devote time to.I'm full-filled. But sometimes I really do miss the fun times. I really, really, really miss hanging out/tambay for one. But I guess this is life's way of balancing me. I spent all those years having fun but being immature. Now it's time to get serious. It's still fun, just not in that loopy care-free way anymore. Ah, well. I guess things do have to change eventually. :-)I used too be much more fun. Now I'm much more productive and capable butGRACEFUL!-XOXO-
