J.D. Salinger: Legendary author dies at 91

“I hope to hell that when I do die somebody has the sense to just dump me in the river or something. Anything except sticking me in a goddam cemetary. People coming and putting a bunch of flowers on your stomach on Sunday, and all that crap. Who wants flowers when you're dead? Nobody.”
- J.D. Salinger

New York City - The legendary author who ruled the youths when he wrote his famous and award winning book "Catcher in th Rye" died at the age of 91, he died of natural causes.

"The Catcher in the Rye" with its immortal teenage protagonist, the twisted, rebellious Holden Caulfield, came out in 1951, a time of anxious, Cold War conformity and the dawn of modern adolescence. The Book-of-the-Month Club, which made "Catcher" a featured selection, advised that for "anyone who has ever brought up a son" the novel will be "a source of wonder and delight — and concern."

The novel was included on a 2005
Time magazine list of the 100 best English-language novels written since 1923, and it was named by Modern Library and its readers as one of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century.

Some of his works were: Nine stories, Franny and Zooey, Raise high the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An introduction and his last work which was released in the New Yorker was Hapworth 16, 1924.

"I love to write and I assure you I write regularly," Salinger said once in a brief interview.
"But I write for myself, for my own pleasure. And I want to be left alone to do it."

I must admit, I haven't read Catcher in the Rye yet and I know I am missing a lot.
It will be my goal to read it and I hope someday, I could also publish one of the short stories that I have written.

A salute to you J.D Salinger

I recently watched this movie, "Before Sunrise" starring Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpy :) I love this poem written by an anonymous street poet and Celine told him to write about Milkshake :) so, here it goes..

Daydream delusion Limousine Eyelash Oh,
baby with your pretty face
Drop a tear in my wineglass
Look at those big eyes

See what you mean to me
Sweet cakes and milkshakes
I am a delusion angel
I am a fantasy parade
I want you to know what I think
Don’t want you to guess anymore
You have no idea where I came from
We have no idea where we’re going

Launched in life Like branches in the river
Flowing downstream
Caught in the current I’ll carry you.
You’ll carry me
That’s how it could be
Don’t you know me?

Don’t you know me by now?

Cute huh? love it....much ^^

Juno Juno Juno...

How I miss this movie, Eventhough the theme of this movie seems to be dealing with a typical "boy meets girl then girl falls inlove but they were two young she get pregnant" kind of story, I still love it. Let's not forget that the film won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and earned three other Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Page.

The movie received many criticism, positive ones, because it teached a lot of teenagers on how to embrace their young life. Abortion is never an option. I also loved the opening title sequence of the movie (ok, so I googled it, and that's how I learned how they called it) the cartoon thing when the movie is introducing the cast. It is very creative.

And by the way, I also Love Ellen Page, there is something about her..she is very natural, so hmm..emo? :) Ellen Philpotts-Page is born on February 21, 1987. A canadian actress before she became an actress, she loves playing action figures and climbing trees (I love those too? does that mean I'll be a golden globe winner as well?)

I guess when you're destined to make this career, it doesn't matter what other people think of you, let's just do our thing, be the best on our crafts, let the world turn and everything will be just like the films..it will keep rolling...

Nothing beats being with your unrully and trusty friends..there are bad times but we always get over it, after years of friendship, here we are..facing our career paths...

I really miss them alot, as in to the highest level. Being with my friends makes me feel at HOME again..which also made me realize how big I have become :) I really need to lose weight asap :) but for now, I am really enjoying what this bonding time gave us..a chance to reunite our goodtimes once again, I guess we are all still the same. 20 "nakakalokang sagot sa: uy!! tumataba ka!!"

This is soooooo based from experience and the most understatement of the year. Since i was not born "fat" i generally experienced parts in my life that i was fat then back to normal weight then fat then back to normal weight again so i always experience this "uy, tumataba ka" comment thing and some people meant it well but others just want to put their best sarcastic comment forward just to make themselves feel more sexier or prettier (not that i notice anything that can boost their ego haha!) but this snappy replies can really make our day..calling all chubby people out there...check this out =)

1. “Bagong promo ng Belo Clinic.”
2. “Hindi, baby fat lang ‘yan.”
3. “Nagsarado kasi yung Fitness First sa amin.”
4. “A sure consequence of increasing personal wealth kasi yan. Ikaw mukha ka pa ring dukha.”
5. “That’s because I’m joining The Biggest Loser.”
6. Rep has auditions for Falstaff.
7. “Maganda nga abs mo, pero bobo ka pa rin.”
8. “I know you meant no malice, but you have no idea how much you hurt my feelings.”
9. “Fifty percent off on Thai Jasmine rice at Hi-Top Supermarket!”
10. ‘Ever heard of the East Beach Diet?”
11. Alam mo, sabi dati ni Roland Barthes, “Steak is part of the same sanguine mythology as wine. It is the heart of meat, it is meat in its pure state; and whoever partakes of it assimilates a bull-like strength. The prestige of steak evidently derives from quasi-rawness. In it, blood is visible, natural, dense, at once compact and sectile… To eat steak therefore represents both a nature and morality.”
12. “I mean, that’s just your opinion, man.”—Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski
13. “Bakit ikaw mukha kang floorwax?”
14. “Nagbasa ako ng Preview. Yan daw ang uso in the next six months.”
15. “Which is why I’ve been taking Xenical. And I’ve got this nice, moist feeling inside my pants.”
16. “Idol ko si Ate Shawee.”
17. “Ah, but the curve is the most beautiful of all the lines.”
18. “May sale kasi sa Tubby.
19. “Does the phrase ‘Dove Beauty’ mean anything to you?”
20. “Tangina mo rin.”

hahahahaha! =p perfect right?:)

10 things i hate about YOU!!

Don't you just love this movie?:) I totally love it..This is one of my favorite movies that I will never get tired of watching..suffice to say it's cheesy, it's a youngster movie but that is LOVE right? when we fall in love, we stay young, we forget that the world is still turning...so, before I turn oh so cheesy..here's the most popular poem that bombarded our e-mails before:

I hate the way you talk to me,

and the way you cut your hair.

I hate the way you drive my car,

I hate it when you stare.

I hate your big dumb combat boots

and the way you read my mind.

I hate you so much it makes me sick,

it even makes me rhyme.

I hate the way you’re always right,

I hate it when you lie.

I hate it when you make me laugh,

even worse when you make me cry.

I hate it when you’re not around,

and the fact that you didn’t call.

But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you,

not even close…

not even a little bit…

not even at all.

there it goes..brings back memories huh?:)
